I.B.I. AMBAN* has specialized in investment portfolio management for the past 40 years.
Our investment managers manage portfolios for private clients, corporations and institutional investors such as provident and mutual funds. We currently have over NIS 12 billion under management.**.
The most experienced investment management team in Israel's capital market
Our investment management team consists of industry veterans that have been operating under the same management since the unit was launched. Collectively, our managers have decades of experience in Israel's capital market, most of which they acquired in a variety of management roles within I.B.I.. The investment team benefits from the knowledge, reputation and expertise accumulated over the years in the various departments of our parent company. The thousands of longstanding clients, who have remained with us over the years throughout periods of boom and bust, attest to the quality of our service and our professional standards.
A personal relationship with meticulous client service
Our investment managers are always available and are skilled in providing an appropriate investment solution to the changing needs of clients and market conditions. Each client is assigned a personal investment manager who assesses his/her financial needs, preferred level of risk and investment objectives and then builds a suitable asset portfolio accordingly. At I.B.I. AMBAN, "customized client service" is not a slogan, but rather, a way of life.
Maximum flexibility in investment portfolios and in range of services
I.B.I. AMBAN offers a wide variety of portfolio management strategies that cover the entire range of asset classes, from equity only, to combined fixed income and equity and fixed income only. Our investment philosophy, applied successfully for almost 40 years, has proven capable of significantly reducing investment risk.
Underlying investment philosophy
Our investment philosophy is based on a combination of value-based investments and investment in the various market indices.
After reaching a decision on allocation of portfolio assets among the different investment channels, our investment managers make a number of strategic investments that have the potential to deliver returns in excess of the benchmark indices. Decisions concerning strategic investments are based on the recommendations of the research and economics departments of I.B.I. Investment House, which conduct in-depth analyses of over 100 companies as well as international markets.
Our investment managers’ decsions are supported by investment committees that meet regularly to review asset allocation.
Equity Investments
Investment policy for equities is value-based. The list of recommended equities for portfolios is reviewed and determined by our central investment committee. The central principles and terms that guide the investment committee in determining asset allocation:
- Bargain price
- High long-term profit potential of the company
- A clear company business model
- Full cooperation of the company and its commitment to minority investors
Fixed-Income Investment
I.B.I. is one of Israel's leading investment houses in fixed income analysis. Our "Fixed Income Forum" provides up-to-date and high-quality analysis of the companies in our coverage universe. An independent in-house function, the Fixed Income forum performs in-depth analyses to assess company solvency, thereby enabling us to steer clear of short-term investment fads.
Regulatory compliance – a company priority
A dedicated team, operating behind the scenes to oversee operations of portfolio managers, is responsible for implementation of our investment philosophy.
I.B.I. AMBAN employs a full-time investment auditor as well as two compliance officers, both of whom are qualified lawyers, to ensure that all employees follow the letter of the law.
The group employs three full-time internal auditors who put in thousands of audit hours a year. Unlike most investment houses who are regulated only by the Israel Securities Authority, I.B.I. is a member of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and is thus also regulated by the stock exchange itself.
